  AWARDS & MEDALS

When the circumstances are so good, no wonder that so many dancers want to participate in this competition.”

-DANCING TIMES (LONDON)

At the USA International Ballet Competition, one of the most important benefits a competitor receives could be the start of a professional career. By providing scholarship opportunities, special encouragement awards and exposure on an international stage, the USA IBC has helped countless dancers launch their careers.

Listed below are the awards that were available for the 2006 USA IBC. We are constantly working to provide more opportunities for our competitors. When new scholarships or awards for the 2010 competition are finalized, this page will be updated.

In addition to the awards that the USA IBC customarily offers, one-season contracts to Miami City Ballet, The Washington Ballet Studio Company and Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley were awarded at the discretion of company officials at the 2006 competition. Also, the Peggy Mize Fund for the IBC presented every finalist in Round III with a cash award of $700 to help defray travel expenses. These awards were offered through the Community Foundation of Greater Jackson, and the fund is named in honor of the late Peggy Mize of Jackson.

The Jury of the USA International Ballet Competition reserves the right to withhold any medal and award prizes at its sole discretion. There is no appeal process for the Jury's decisions. The Grand Prix Award may not be given with any other prize. In the case of a tie, winners will share monetary awards.
