Q: How do I apply to compete in the 2010 USA International Ballet Competition?

A: The 2010 Competitor Application is available for download on this site. Eligibility requirements and rules are included in the application. Print and return pages 6-7 along with your application fee of $50 USD to the USA IBC BEFORE October 30, 2009.

 

Q: I’ve looked on the USA IBC website, but I can’t find the 2010 requisite classical repertoire. How can I get a list of the classical repertoire?

A: The IBC will distribute the Round I classical repertoire, along with a Round I rehearsal music CD only to those dancers with a completed application and $50 USD application fee on file with the USA IBC by October 30, 2009.

Round III requisite classical repertoire will be sent with a Round III rehearsal music CD to those dancers invited to compete in the 2010 USA IBC.

 

Q: When will I receive the Round I repertoire and rehearsal music CD?

A: Round I repertoire and rehearsal music CDs are ready to be sent now. Once we have received and processed your application, we will send the repertoire and music CD to you along with Competitor Application: Part II.

 

Q: May I fax or email my completed application to the USA IBC?

A: No. Applications submitted via email or fax WILL NOT be accepted!

 

Q: Will you email me to let me know that my application has arrived at the USA IBC office?

A: Yes. Once we have received and processed your application, you will receive a confirmation email. It may take a few additional days to complete this task as the volume of applications that we receive daily increases. If you wish to have immediate confirmation that your application has arrived at our office, please request delivery confirmation/package tracking (from the post office, UPS, or FEDEX) when posting your application.

 

Q: May I pay the application fee in cash?

A: Yes. We recommend that you pay your application fee by credit card, check, or money order, but you may include cash, $50 USD, with your application as payment of the application fee.

 

Q: May I wire money to the USA IBC to pay my application fee?

A: Yes. Because of the fees assessed to us by our bank, wiring your application fee will cost an extra $19 USD. The total cost is $69 USD to wire your application fee. If you plan to wire your application fee, contact compete@usaibc.com for the wire information.

 

Q: May I pay my application fee by MoneyGram or Western Union?

A: No

 

Q: Must I submit my video application by October 30, 2009?

A: No. Simply return pages 6—7 of the competitor application along with $50 USD application by October 30, 2009. This is the first step in the competitor application process.

 

Q: What happens after October 30, 2009?/When are video applications due to the USA IBC?

A: Applicants must submit a video application and completed biography form along with a copy of your passport and recent headshot to the USA IBC office no later than February 1, 2010.

Coach and non-competing partner application forms are also due at this time along with their headshot and a copy of their passport.

 

Q: May I have more than one coach for the competition?

A: No. While anyone may accompany you to Jackson and purchase tickets to attend USA IBC performances, you may only designate one coach for the 2010 USA IBC. If you are competing as a couple, you and your partner must designate the same coach.

Coaches must complete a coach application form and submit a recent headshot and a copy of their passport to the USA IBC office no later than February 1, 2010. The USA IBC will send the coach application form with the Round I classical repertoire and Round I rehearsal music CD.
