September 7 , 2005

Cindy Wade Scott, a Richland resident, recently joined the staff of the USA International Ballet Competition as assistant to the executive director. In her new role, Scott will assist the executive director in managing jury selection, coordinating International Dance School faculty relations and maintaining communications with VIP constituents. Scott will also handle group sales for the event.

“I’m excited to be working for an organization with such a far-reaching mission,” said Scott. “This event attracts dancers and ticket-buyers from throughout the world, and it’s a thrill to work with such a geographically diverse group of people.”

Scott’s previous professional experience includes work as director of conference services at Belhaven College, where she maintained an extensive college master calendar, coordinated reservation requests and executed all contracts for facility rentals. Scott also served as an income development assistant at the local branch of the American Cancer Society, where she implemented fund-raising projects and acted as liaison for the organization’s many volunteers. She is also co-owner of The Donut Shop and Bakery Café in Richland, a family business that has been serving customers since its opening in 1986. Scott is a member of the MetroJackson Chamber of Commerce, and she also serves on the board of the Richland Economic Development Association. An active member of Unity Church of Jackson, Scott resides in Richland with her husband Steve.

Scott will immediately begin preparations for the upcoming USA International Ballet Competition, scheduled to take place June 17 - July 2, 2006, in Jackson, Mississippi.
