2027 Competitor Application, Part 1

COMPETITOR INSTRUCTIONS:

Please select the correct categories below and the appropriate directions and music selections will appear.  Review all the instructions below before beginning your application. We recommend preparing all the materials needed to complete your application before beginning the 2027 Competitor Application, Part I. DEADLINE: January 22, 2027.

(Age as of June 12, 2027)
*Dancers competing in the female division must perform all Classical variations on pointe

SOLOISTS:

Please complete the following:

  • 1. Select TWO variations from the Round I classical repertoire for the video application.
  • 2. Upload your headshot (in color)- photos must be no smaller than 5" x 7" (13 x 18cm). Please save your headshot file as LAST NAME_HEADSHOT. For example: SMITH_HEADSHOT.
  • 3. Select Repertoire.
  • 4. Submit Part 1 and Application Fee (Deadline: January 22, 2027) to receive access to Part 2 Video Submission (Deadline: February 17, 2027).

COUPLES WITH TWO COMPETING PARTNERS:

Couples who are applying with two competing partners submit TWO separate applications. Please complete the following:

    • 1. Select ONE Pas De Deux from the Round I classical repertoire for the video application.
    • 2. Upload a headshot (in color) for each competing partner in your separate applications- photos must be no smaller than 5" x 7" (13 x 18cm). Please save your headshot file as LAST NAME_HEADSHOT. For example: SMITH_HEADSHOT.
    • 3. Select Repertoire.
    • 4. Submit Part 1 and Application Fee (Deadline: January 22, 2027) to receive access to Part 2 Video Submission (Deadline: February 17, 2027).

COMPETITORS WITH NON-COMPETING PARTNERS:

Instruct your Non-Competing Partner to complete his or her own individual application. Please complete the following:

  • 1. Select ONE Pas De Deux from the Round I classical repertoire for the video submission.
  • 2. Upload a headshot (in color) for the competing partner - photos must be no smaller than 5" x 7" (13 x 18cm). Please save your headshot file as LAST NAME_HEADSHOT. For example: SMITH_HEADSHOT.
  • 3. Select Repertoire.
  • 4. Submit Part 1 and Application Fee (Deadline: January 22, 2027) to receive access to Part 2 Video Submission (Deadline: February 17, 2027).

NON-COMPETING PARTNER:

Please complete the following:

  • 1. Select ONE Pas De Deux from the Round I classical repertoire for the video submission.
  • 2. Upload a headshot (in color) for the competing partner - photos must be no smaller than 5" x 7" (13 x 18cm). Please save your headshot file as LAST NAME_HEADSHOT. For example: SMITH_HEADSHOT.
  • 3. Select Repertoire.

CURRENT DANCE POSITION:

ROUND 1 Classical Variation for Video Submission:

Soloists must select TWO classical variations from the Round I classical repertoire for the video application. If selections change prior to your video app submission, please notify the USA IBC by emailing compete@usaibc.com 

ROUND 1 Classical Pas de Deux for Video Submission:

Couples must select ONE Pas de Deux from the Round I classical repertoire for the video application. If selection changes prior to your video app submission, please notify the USA IBC by emailing compete@usaibc.com

Video Submission Rules:

ATTIRE:

• Women-- must wear pink tights that cover the entire leg and foot, pointe shoes and a leotard in a contrasting color from the background of studio. No costumes, skirts, or practice tutus may be worn.

• Men -- must wear black or white tights covering the entire leg and foot, ballet shoes, and solid color shirt in a contrasting color from the background of the studio.

FILMING INSTRUCTIONS:

• The dancer should be shot directly from the center, with full body kept in view and in close range. No filming at angles.

• Videos with edits or cuts will NOT be accepted.

• Videos of live performances will NOT be accepted.

• A replacement partner is allowed for this video if your competition partner is not available.
