CityDance

The USA International Ballet Competition sponsors the CityDance program, which provides FREE ballet classes to Jackson Public School students. CityDance works to educate, enlighten, and develop future artists and audience members within Jackson’s community. The program typically serves 75-80 children from Jackson Public Schools, ranging in age from 7-12 years old. Students are provided with weekly after-school ballet lessons, dance attire, and opportunities to participate in special events, such as attending live ballet performances, participating in dance master classes, and much more! Each year begins with an audition, which is held the Saturday after labor day and is culminated by an end-of-year recital. Click here to see what the CityDance Program accomplished in 2021/2022.

Offered by the USA IBC each school year since 2003, CityDance is funded in part through the generous support of the Mississippi Arts Commission, the City of Jackson, the National Endowment for the Arts, Henry & Martha Hederman Charitable Foundation; and other individual donors.
